Falling For The Perfect Home In Fall

The kids are back to school and as Oscar Wilde once said, “All at once summer collapsed into fall!” Even though some of you may be sad to be leaving behind another summer there are some great reasons to welcome back fall with open arms. The warm fireplace, hot chocolate, pumpkins and corn mazes! With the changing of seasons, it may also be a time for a change in your home. People would be surprised to hear that fall is actually a great time to purchase a new home. Here are some of the reasons why!

  • Sellers Are Serious - The people that are putting their homes on the market this time of year are very serious about selling. Why you may ask? If they were not they would be waiting until spring to list. Families do not like uplifting their lives to move during the back to school rush and with the holidays right around the corner. If there is a time that families like to be settled this is that time, resulting in sellers that are more flexible with negotiations to get the job done.
  • Less Competition - As families focus on finishing up their summer vacations the focus point moves towards getting the kids back to school. A lot of parents aim to be in their new place before the school year begins. Creating a lot less competition in the marketplace. This gives you some time to decide what is really important to you and what are must haves in your new home. This also helps to decrease the chances of being in multiple-offer situations.
  • More Choices - The less people that are buying houses and taking them off of the market, the more time you have to look and evaluate the homes in your home buying process!
  • Weather - Moving in the dead heat of summer can be excruciating with the sun beating down on you. Moving in our freezing cold winter is not going to make anyone happy either. That happy medium you are looking for is the season of autumn!

If you ask us, falling for the perfect home in fall is the perfect time!
